Arthur Valley, Jr.

Arthur Frank Valley, Jr. 62, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center after battling pneumonia. Art was born in Salisbury, N.C., on Dec. 31, 1950 but spent most of his life in the Chattanooga area. He was a Vietnam War Veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he spent his career as a realtor. Art was a fun loving spirit that could carry on a conversation with anyone. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all that knew him. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Frank Valley, Sr.; sister, Betty Faye Williamson and nephew, Stephen Matthew Ortwein. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Mae Valley; sons, Arthur Frank Valley, III and Justin Bart Valley; sisters, Kathy (Steve) Ortwein and Susan (Steve) Poole. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Heritage Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Mike Hearrell will conduct the service at 12:30 p.m. in the church.
