LaFAYETTE Elsie Mae Williams Chapman, 99, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, Fields Chapman; son, Marvin Chapman. Survived by daughters, Katie "Bob" Wilhelm, of LaFayette, Margie Crisp, of Ringgold, Doris (Shep) Archer, of Rock Spring; sons, Dr. Harlan (Doris) Chapman, of Dalton, Buddy (Delores) Chapman, and Steve (Rosalind) Chapman, all of LaFayette; sister, Nell Bacon, of Columbia, S.C.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel Monday Dec. 23, at 3 p.m. conducted by grandson Rev. Tony Tucker. Pallbearers are Kent Chapman, Ricky Archer, Shawn Tucker, Max Morrison, Zack Chapman, and Zeb Chapman. Interment in the LaFayette Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
