Edward Quinn

Edward J. Quinn, 90, of Harrison died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013 at his home. He was born Sept. 30, 1923 in Polk County, Tenn. He was a son of the late Robert Newton Quinn and Margie Kate Pell Quinn. He was preceded in death by sister Opal Waller; brothers Spence Quinn, Austin Quinn, and Wayne Quinn. He was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ. Mr. Quinn was a Christian since 1947 and served as an elder in Dayton, Oh., and Chattanooga, Tenn. Mr. Quinn was a graduate of Polk County High School and was retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Burma Quinn; children Jon (Barbara) Quinn, a minister of the gospel, of Bradley, Ill., Tim Quinn, of Harrison, Tenn., and Sondra (Paul) Pettyjohn, Hixson, Tenn.; grandchildren Melissa Daniels, Nathan Quinn, Emily Anderson, Jake Pettyjohn, Kayla Pettyjohn; great grandchildren Elliot Daniels, LilyAnne Daniels, Sephie Anderson and one due in June; brothers Roy (Dollie) Quinn, Tipp City, Ohio, and Bill (Barbara) Quinn, Ingleside, Texas; sisters Kathy (Claiborne) Kerr, Cleveland, Tenn., Kay (Henry) Haliburton, Cleveland, Tenn., and Willie Anna (Steve) Szabo, of Cleveland, Tenn. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, Dec. 28, in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Evangelist Perry Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
