Catherine Cox

Catherine A. Cox, 70, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at home. She was born Aug. 10, 1943 to the late Sam and Ruth Rolland. She was an active member of Greater Tucker Baptist Church. Catherine was a 1960 graduate of Howard High School and was previously employed with Wrigley Manufacturing as a machine operator. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cox Sr.; parents, Sam and Ruth Rolland; sister, Evelyn Howard; sisters-in-law, Mable Mathews, Helen Green; brother-in-law, Haywood Cox. Survivors include sons, Archie Smith, Jr. (caretaker) and Kevin Smith; stepdaughters, Dapheny Moore (caretaker) and Shirley (Carroll) Parham, North Carolina; Yvonne and Sheila Cox, California; stepsons, Robert (Sheree) Cox III and Daniel Cox of California; Exnor (Maria) Cox, Oregon; brother, Val Rolland; granddaughters, Alicia and Tiesha Smith; great granddaughter, Amia Smith; 11 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon today at Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church-the family will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m. John P.
