ROSSVILLE Donna Gale Brodie, 49, traveled to her chosen destination, Heaven, to be with God for all eternity this Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 peacefully at her home with her husband and daughters by her side.Mrs. Brodie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ernest V. Henegar; maternal grandparents, Fred D. and Elsie Marie Richardson; and her beloved mother, Alice Marie Henegar. Mrs. Brodie is survived by her devoted husband, Mr. Raymond R. Brodie Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Amber Regal and her husband Mr. Chad Regal both, of Flintstone, Ga., and daughter, Miss Tasha Brodie, of Rossville, Ga.; Other survivors include her father Mr. Donald G. Henegar, of Rossville, Ga.; Paternal grandmother, Ms. Ruby Mulkey, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother and sister in law, Mr. John F. and Jacqueline Henegar, of Ringgold, Ga., brother in law, Mr. Robbie Brodie, of Chickamauga, Ga., brother and sister in law, Mr. And Mrs. Steve and Gwen Brodie, of Ringgold, Ga.; Also her beloved granddaughter, Miss Makenzie Regal; Also, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will remember Donna with love.Mrs. Brodie was born Oct. 27, 1963 in Southgate, Los Angeles County, Calif. She attended Cloud Springs Elementary, Lakeview Middle School and was a 1981 graduate of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School. Her professional career choice was nursing where she proudly served the Fort Oglethorpe, East Ridge and Chattanooga communities for over 25 years. Most of that time was served at the Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe helping save lives in the trauma / emergency unit. On Feb. 26, 1983, Miss Donna Henegar married the man of her dreams and became Mrs. Donna Brodie for life.Mrs. Brodie also had many interests other than her chosen profession. She loved to worship God and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Spending time with her family was always at the top of her list. However, her other interests including playing with her B.F.F. Makenzie, softball, golf, fishing, camping, Georgia Bulldog football, laughing, loving and enjoying life, especially with her husband, Ray of nearly 30 years. As a child Donna loved twirling baton, tennis, softball, singing and playing music with her mother, cheerleading and travel. Her "Happy Place" was the sugar white beaches of Destin, Fla., where she traveled to countless times during her optimistic and fun loving life and spent many a happy day in her perfect place on earth. However, Donnas greatest talents were her patience, kindness to others, leadership, positive outlook and the God given ability to develop her own unique style of communication with canvas, paint and a brush. A legacy to be cherished by all that knew and loved her.Special thanks to all of the fine physicians, nurses and staff at the Memorial Hospital Oncology department for their professionalism and compassion and also all of the fine people that represent Chattanooga Hospice and the unique comforting service they provide. Entombment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
