Lester Barnes

RINGGOLD Lester Eugene Barnes, 68, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, after battling cancer for two years.A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, he was a former employee of Collegedale Case Works where he worked for 15 years and was of the Baptist faith.He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Epperson Barnes; brothers, David and Robert "Sonny"; and sisters, Margie, Marie and Grace.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Anderson Barnes, of Ringgold; three children, Bobby (Leann) Barnes, of Harrison, Charles Barnes, of Ringgold, and Crystal (Brian) Barnes Herndon, of Englewood, Fla.; sister, Doris Morgan, of Chatsworth, Ga.; four grandchildren, Mitchell Herndon, Rachal Herndon, Logan Barnes and Lauren Barnes Jablonski; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Herndon and McKenzie Berning; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until funeral time at the funeral home.An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
