Jackie Cantrell

RINGGOLD Margaret Jackalene "Jackie" Williams Cantrell, 84, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. Jackie was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.Jackie was retired from the Department of Family & Childrens Services. Prior to her illness, Jackie was an active member of Ringgold First Baptist Church. She and her husband, Hoke, spent countless hours visiting the elderly and shut-ins as part of the Church's tape ministry. Jackie was also a past member of the Joy Choir.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Daniel "Jack" and Vinnie Lowrance Williams; and her brother, Ernest Williams.Jackie counted her family among her greatest blessings. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hoke Cantrell; sons, Steve (Pat) Cantrell, Dunlap, Tenn., and Hal (Donna) Cantrell, Ooltewah; granddaughters, Starla (Larry) Ferrell, Sanford, N.C., Samantha (Todd) Vandergriff, Chattanooga, and Kristina (Mark) Anderson, Boise, Idaho; grandsons, Nathan (Lauren) Cantrell, Ringgold, Ga., and Lewis Cantrell, Mobile, Ala; great-grandchildren, Zachary (Rachael) Brewer, Josh Brewer, Leslie (Jacob) Maness, Sam Bullard, and Jessie Ferrell, all of Sanford, N.C.; Sage Vandergriff and Coy Vandergriff, Chattanooga, Hunter Fagan and Colton Fagan, Boise, Idaho, Andrew Cantrell, Sydney Cantrell, Lexi Cantrell and Julianna Henson, all of Ringgold; great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Brewer and Emma Maness, Sanford, N.C. Jackie is also survived by her sisters, Louise Anderson and Joan (O. C.) Jolley, all of Ringgold, and Linda (Jimmy) Haskett, Dayton, Tenn.; her brother, Ronald (Charlotte) Williams, Ringgold; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bruce Sloan officiating.A private interment will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.Pallbearers are Nathan Cantrell, Lewis Cantrell, Coy Vandergriff, Andrew Cantrell, Eddie Eaker and Daniel Jolley.Honorary pallbearers are members of the Lydia Sunday School Class, Ringgold First Baptist Church.Memorial contributions may be made to Ringgold First Baptist Church, 7611 Nashville St., Ringgold, GA 30736.Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
