Frances McMahon

Frances D. King McMahon died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, from natural causes after a long illness.Born Jan. 12, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to her late parents, Issac and Vesta June Dunlap, she lived most of her adult life in Chattanooga. Frances was a wonderful mother, a creative seamstress, a talented musician, a bright and capable bookkeeper, and was a Christian with a tenacious dedication to doing right.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Dankowski and June (James) Chapman; by her husband and father of her children, Hugh Ingram King; and her more recent husband, William D. "Bill" McMahon.Survivors include by three daughters, "Kay" Mary Katherine (Moore J.) Smith, Rose Ann Cheek, Myra Mae (John) Dunn; two granddaughters, Sophia Lynn (Jerry Lee) Gross and Iris Sue Cheek; and one great-granddaughter, Sidda LeeAnn Gross.Services will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, with Mark Dowell officiating.Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
