, Jr.KNOXVILLE Joe M. McClure, Jr. 59, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at a Knoxville medical facility. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy where he served 3 tours of duty during the Vietnam War; he later served as a Navy recruiter in several US cities. He was of the Church of God faith.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend Lloyd and Mildred Jones and Lee and Daisy McClure. Survivors include his wife, Patti Penney McClure, of Knoxville; parents, Joe Sr. and Frieda McClure, of Cleveland; children, Rananah Chastain and husband Jason, of Cleveland, Joshua McClure, of Cleveland and Zachary McClure and wife Stacy, of Fort Myers, Fla.; step-children, Holli Case, Ian Baxter and Garrett Baxter, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kayla Chastain, Abigail Chastain and Clayton Chastain; step-grandchildren: Shawn Case, Jessica Case, Lydia Baxter, Daphne Baxter and Skylar Baxter; brother, Reverend Mitch McClure and wife Sherrie of Hixson; niece, Sara McClure and nephew, Jonathan McClure and wife Rachel.Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Mitch McClure officiating. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
