Vera Silvey

Vera Mae Silvey, 66, transitioned to glory on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at home.She was born Feb. 22, 1946 in Leesville, La., to the late Ike and Lillie Mae Burns. She was the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Leesville High School and was an active member until her sickness at Fields Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Ooltewah.She leaves behind her husband, Marvin Silvey; her beloved daughter, Sarah (Zacchaeus) Whitfield, Columbia, Md.; two siblings, Robert (Deborah) Burns and Mildred Johnson, both of Leesville, La.; a host of nieces and nephews; dear friends, Martha Edmondson, Mary and Charles Patterson, Charise Fletcher, Tina Lindsay.Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at Fields Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with Pastor Aderon Billingsley officiating.Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
