Archie Poole

Sr.Archie James Poole Sr., 90, of Sale Creek, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Erlanger North in Chattanooga.A lifelong resident of Sale Creek, he was born Jan. 12, 1923, to the late Samuel and Jessie Clingan Poole.Archie served his country with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He was a supervisor and foreman for the Hamilton County Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and farming and was an avid fisherman.He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Thelma Reel Poole, of Sale Creek; two sons, Archie "Jim" (June) Poole Jr., of Evensville and Sammy Poole, of Hermitage; two daughters, Judy (Carlos) Cordell and Jackie (Danny) Hixson, both of Sale Creek; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.Funeral services with military honors will be held at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
