Sr.Amos Sparks Sr., 83, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at a local healthcare facility. Amos was formerly employed at Mueller Co. He was of Baptist faith.His hobbies include riding motorcycles and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Idella Sparks; mother, Carrie James.Survived by his five children, Amos Sparks Jr., Chattanooga; Carolyn (Edgar) Dillard, Chattanooga; Carol Lumpkin, Ringgold, Ga.; Marcus (Bonnie) Sparks, Colonial Beach, Va.; Gloria (Willie) Bone, Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Terrell, Los Angeles, Calif.; Ruby (Arthur) Murphy, Phoenix, Ariz.; Gladys (General) Winston, West Point, Ga. and Jenell (Johnny) Owens, Lanett, Ala.; a host of, nieces and nephews and ex-wife, Margaret Sparks.Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Edward Ellis officiating.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
