Minnie Radar

Minnie RaderMinnie Jackson Rader, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013.She was born April 28, 1922, to the late Mary Bell Jackson Stubblefield and SW Jackson.Minnie was an active member of Hixson United Methodist Church and a faithful attendee of Sam McConnell Sunday School Class. Minnie retired from Tennessee Department of Mental Health. She was employed with Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute. Minnie loved dancing, gardening and travel. Minnie was active in Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America. She served as Past High Priestess Asebi Court #36 and Past Matron of Hixson Chapter #310 Eastern Star. Minnie enjoyed her involvement with Helping Hands and the Clown Unit. She was also active in The Red Hat Society and Toastmasters International.She lived her last year at Summit View Community, where she continued her love for gardening. The family would like to thank the caregivers and friends. Minnie is survived by her grandson, Mark Neal, and his wife, Angela, of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Kevin Neal, of Soddy-Daisy; nieces Cathy Turner, of Franklin, Tenn., and Victoria Jackson, of Santa Fe, N.M.; great-niece, Lacy Huddleston, of Thompsons Station, Tenn.; great-great-nephew, Landon Huddleston, of Thompsons Station, Tenn.She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Rader; son, Bruce Neal; grandsons, Kevin and Tim Neal, and her brothers, SW Jackson Jr. and Jimmy Jackson.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at Hixson United Methodist Church in the McConnell Chapel. Judge Clarence Shattuck and Rev. Paul Longmire will present her eulogy. The Sunrise Choir will sing.Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga.Minnie loved life.
