Hal Shook

COOPER HEIGHTS Hal C. Shook, 85, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, with his devoted family by his side.Hal was a family man and veteran of the United States Airforce. He left a lasting impression on those who knew him for having a strong work ethic. Hal was employed by Serodino Inc. for the past 23 years. He also had a sincere passion for his beloved wife of 54 years, Jo Shook. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Cooper Heights.Hal was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katharina Shook; and a sister, Jane Park.He is survived by his wife, Jo Shook; son, Mark Shook (Ona), daughter, Jeanie Shook (Peter) Kasper, of Cooper Heights. Additionally, he is survived by two grandchildren, Abigail and Ikaika. He is also survived by a sister, Marianne Thornberry; a brother, John Shook; and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Parkridge Hospital for their love and compassion. Also, want to thank Serodino Inc. and his co-workers for their support.Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Wilsons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Wells officiating.The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Red Cross.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home.
