Cynthia Joyner

Cynthia Johanna Joyner, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Cynthia was born on Dec. 4, 1981 to Jackie Scott and George Griffith in Orangeburg, S.C. She attended First Baptist Church located in Blackville, S.C.She was a graduate of Blackville Hilda High School Class of 1999, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Ricky Joyner on July 11, 2001. This union was blessed with two children. She was a fearless advocate for her son, Matthew, who has autism and volunteered countless hours of service to the Chattanooga Autism Center.Cherishing her memories are: her husband, Ricky Joyner; two children, Matthew and Traci Joyner; her mother, Jackie (Tom) Scott, of Blackville, S.C.; her father, George Griffith, of Ulmer, S.C.; one sister, Victoria (Kenneth) Apgar, of St. Matthews, S.C.; one brother, Victor (Sarah) Griffith, of Bamberg, S.C.; her mother-in-law, Trudy Joyner; grandparents, Jack and Barbara Smith of Olar, S.C. and Helen Griffith of Elloree, S.C; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loving friends.Funeral noon Friday, July 26, at Greater Sweet Branch Baptist Church, Olar, S.C., with Rev. Benjamin Clay.Burial at Church Cemetery.Mrs. Joyner will be placed in the church one hour before the service.Viewing for the public will be held from 1- 7p.m. today at the funeral home.
