Jeanette Dunn

FRIENDSVILLE Jeanette Stinson Dunn, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital.Jeanette was raised in Greenwood, Miss., Jeanette attended Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW) and Auburn University and went to work shortly after for McFadden Cotton Brokerage where she met her husband Olin Henry Dunn. They soon moved to Lexington, Miss., where they lived for 14 years and had four children. In following her husbands career with Levi Strauss, Jeanette pursued a real estate career in many states throughout the Southeast. Jeanette was a member of Friendsville United Methodist Church where she taught childrens Sunday school for many years. She also served on the pastor parish relations committee and welcome committee. She also was a founding and active member of Citizens for Community Involvement for 16 years earning the Appreciation Award last year for helping hundreds of families in Friendsville. She enjoyed traveling across the country to visit friends and family as well as hosting numerous large family reunions. Preceded in death by: parents, Ruby Melcena Stinson and Curtis Austin Stinson; son, Olin Henry Dunn III.Survivors include: beloved husband of 59 years, Olin Henry Dunn. She was the devoted mother of: Emmie Diane Dunn, of Knoxville, Melcena (Wayne) Woody, of Morganton, Ga., Jeanette Stinson (Mark) Duggan, of Chattanooga; dear grandchildren, Ashley (Charles) Raffinie, Alyce Dunn, Abby (Rodney) Merrell, Kristyn (Zachary) Hamilton, Caitlin and Caroline Duggan; cherished great-grandchildren, McKenna Merrell and Olin Raffinie; sisters, Bernice Oswalt, of Cleveland, Miss., and Virginia Dunham, of Laurel, Miss.; daughter-in-law, Tama Dunn; many dearly loved nephews and nieces.Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Friendsville United Methodist Church, 204 E.
