Artie Pringle

Artie Marie Sims Pringle, 97, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at a local healthcare facility.She attended New Mt. Carmel and Union Hill Baptist Church.Mrs. Artie worked in various capacities with the Human Services Agency. She also enjoyed caring for the sick and elderly and teaching Sunday school at Union Hill Baptist Church.Mrs. Arties hobbies included quilting and teaching Bible classes in her home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Suzanne Wilson Sims; her husband, George M. Pringle; brothers, Tom E. Sims, Lonnie Sims, Willie A. Sims, Curtis Lee Sims, Lawrence Sims; sisters, Jeanette Jimerson and Bennie Catherine Sims-Ellis.Survivors include her children, Georgie M. Pringle Richardson, Chattanooga; George E. Pringle, Jonesboro, Ga.; Jimmy L. (Edna) Pringle, Chattanooga, Doris L. Pringle (Erska) Barnett, Fairfield, Calif.; sister, Essie Donald, Meridian, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; special thanks to Mrs. Janice High, niece of Mrs. Pringle for her support to the family; also to NHC Healthcare Family- 2nd Floor Nursing Staff and assistants and Hospice of Chattanooga.Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Mt. Peria Missionary Baptist Church, located on 341 Sparks St., Ringgold, GA 30736 with Pastor Jimmy Ingram officiating.Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
