Olean Watson

Margaret Olean Brown Watson, 84, of Hixson, formerly of Birmingham, Ala., went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2013.She was born in Columbiana, Ala., to Clarence and Ruby Stone. She attended Ensley High School where she was an accomplished musician playing both accordion and piano. Subsequently, she was employed by IBM retiring in 1990.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.Olean was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Brown and Ralph Watson.She is survived by her two children, Cindy (Glenn) Newman and Wayne (Robin) Brown; her grandchildren, Brandon (Erica), Bradley and Harrison Newman; Ashley (Benjamin) Myatt and Jennifer Brown; and great-granddaughter, Michaela Caroline Roach.The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, from 2-3 p.m. at Hixson United Methodist Church.A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev.
