JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Isaac Newton "Newt" Ryan, 91, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 22, 2013.Newt was born Oct. 31, 1921, the 9th child of Luther Erskine Ryan Sr. and Nannie Vaughan Ryan of Lebanon (DeKalb) County, Ala.Newt was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; eight brothers; and his first wife of 60 years Virginia Hartline Ryan.Mr. Ryan graduated from Dade County High School and attended Princeton University. He was a Veteran of World War II and Korea (First Lt) retired from Westinghouse Nuclear. He and his first wife volunteered for Red Cross for many years and was a deacon at Eastside Baptist Church in Deland, Fla. He loved his church and would not miss any services, he sang in the choir when he was able.Newt is survived by his wife, Ella Faye Conner-Ryan; son, Alan (Debbie) Ryan; daughters, Judy Archey, Cheryl (John) Spiller and Debra (Greg) Pasquale; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.In lieu of flowers, the family has ask donations to be made in honor of Newt to Hospice of Volusia Flagler, and The Veterans Administration.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, Graveside in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.Visit www.RyanFuneralHome.net to share memories and condolence.Visitation for Mr. Ryan will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday June 27, 2013, at Ryan Funeral Home Trenton.
