FORT OGLETHORPE Leila Beatrice Cooper Parker, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013.She was born to the late William Edgar and Ethel Mae Bell Cooper in LaFayette, Ga., on March 4, 1929. She was of the Baptist faith, a retired bookkeeper with Catoosa County school system, a 1947 graduate of LaFayette High School where she was a basketball star, and she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by three sisters; and four brothers.Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Esther Parker and Mike and Rita Parker; brothers, Ralph and Odell Cooper; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Noble, Ga.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Health Care Systems Foundation.Online guestbook available at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes, LaFayette Chapel, 706-638-1122.
