SPARTA Rachel Pendergrass Freeman Scott, 84, passed away Sunday morning March 3, 2013, at the Highlands Medical Center.She was born Aug. 20, 1928, in White County, Tenn., to the late Leslie Bates and Mae Nash Pendergrass.She is also preceded in death by a husband, Rev. Lloyd Freeman; son, Don Freeman; two sisters, Elease Akers and Arlene Underwood; and two brothers, Marvin Pendergrass and Kenneth Pendergrass.She is survived by her husband, Tommy Scott, of Sparta; daughter, Lisa (Raymond) Neal of Harrison; three sisters, Virginia Ray and Jessie Matheney both of Sparta and Billie (Clarence) Edmonds of Brentwood; four grandchildren, Amy, Nicole, James, and Phillip; two great-grandchildren, Angel and Isaac; stepchild, Ronnie (Gail) Scott of SpartaFuneral service will be 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.Burial will be in Saylors Cemetery. Brother Doyle Crawford will officiate the services.
