Wiley Dayton

JOHNSON CITY Wiley Reed Dayton, 88, entered into rest, Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Lakebridge Health Care Center.Mr. Dayton was a native of Chattanooga and had lived in Johnson City for several years.He was a son of the late John Sronts Dayton and Nellie Frances Lawson Dayton. Mr. Dayton was also preceded in death in 2012 by his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha June Rose Dayton.Mr. Dayton was a member of Central Church of Christ. He loved his church and read his bible through three times each year.He was an accomplished writer, gifted poet and song writer, composing over 75 gospel hymns and many love songs to his Martha June.Mr. Dayton leaves two daughters, Deborah Farmer and her husband, Rick, Johnson City, Donna Anderson, Nashville; grandchildren, Brent Farmer, Meghan Daniel, Amy Buselmeier, Rachel Laycock and Matthew Anderson; and eight great-grandchildren.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Central Church of Christ, Johnson City, Tenn. Mr. Tim Hall will officiate. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service.Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Greenwood Cemetery, Chattanooga.Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Church of Christ, Johnson City, Tenn.The family wishes to thank the staff of Lakebridge Health Care Center for their loving care of our mama and daddy for the last one and one half years.Online condolences may be shared through www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, 3001 People St., Johnson City, TN 37604, 423-610-7171 is serving the family.
