, Jr.SPRING CITY Mr. Oscar Oney, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Mr. Oney was born in Lancing Tenn. on March 16, 1932, to Oscar Sr. and Eva Oney. Oscar Jr. was an adoring Husband to Christine Oney for 63 Years and loving mentor to 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway with 34 years of service, and enjoyed his co-workers friendship. He was also a fireman for the Spring City Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and enjoyed life to the fullest every day.He is preceded in death by: Parents, Oscar and Eva Oney; son, Randall Oney; brothers, Hershel and Harold Oney.He was survived by, devoted wife of 63 years, Christine Oney, of Spring City, Tenn.; daughters, Sandra Lankford (Jerry), Belinda McCampbell (Gary), Janet Bright (Bobby); siblings, Earl and Relda Oney; scores of Family Members.Visitation is Tuesday, April 2, from Noon to 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary.Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lonnie Eldridge and the Rev. Johnny Eldridge officiating. Interment and Concluding Services will be held at Spring City Cemetery following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, Donations are requested from the family to be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
