Ron Laqua

Ronald "Ron" F. Laqua, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013.He was born in Montana and was a longtime resident of Chattanooga. Ron was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran with 20 years of service, he served around the world and in Vietnam. Following his retirement, Ron worked for 15 years with Cooks Pest Control. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.He was preceded in death by his son, McDonald Paul Laqua; brother, Dale Clinton Violett; and sister, Barbara Violett.Survivors include his wife, Catherine L. Laqua; daughters, CeCe Busse and children and grandchildren, Martina (Toby) Gross, of Memphis, and Alicia (Mike) Myers and children of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Nancy (Gene) Helegson, of Lodge Pole, Mont., Lucille (Tom) Fairbanks, of Turner, Mont., and Martha (Scott) Warren, of Turner, Mont.; also by Aunt Mommas and Uncle Ronnies nieces and nephews, Kylene (John) Palmer and sons of Chattanooga, Reagan (Brent) Freeman and daughter, of LaFayette, Ga., Alex Shiflett and Colin Shiflett, both of Chattanooga; and many other nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Father Charlie Burton officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
