llJASPER Thelma Harris Peardon-Russell, 88, of the Ladds Community near Jasper, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.She was born Sept. 1, 1924 in Spring City, Tenn., to the late Calvin and Jeanette Newby Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Carl Peardon Sr.; husband, Homer Russell; daughter, Brenda Peardon; three sisters and one brother.Survivors include her children, Linda (Johnny) Garrison, of Rossville, MC (Sherry) Peardon Jr., of Jasper, Tenn.,, and Ricky (Nickie) Peardon, of Haletown, Tenn.; sister, Jean Thurman, of Spring City, Tenn.; stepchildren, Norma French, of North Carolina, Galon (Phyliss) Russell, of Florida; two foster daughters, Betty Smith, of Ringgold, Ga. and Peggy Gravitt, of Dalton, Ga.; grandchildren, Greg (Teri) Peardon and Jeff (Stacie) Peardon, of Jasper, Tenn., Leslie (Bobby) McLeroy, of Knoxville, Keri Peardon and husband, Timothy Kelly of Eagleville, Tenn., and Tiara Stovall, of Haletown, Tenn.; stepgranddaughter, Daphine (Greg) Rivenbark of North Carolina; five great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friend and helper, Pat Wooten; and many other relatives and friends to cherish her memories.Funeral services will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. CDT today, May 21, 2013.Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends for visitation today from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.rogersfuneralhome.com.
