Vivian Byrd

Vivian R. Byrd, 85, of Collegedale, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013.A native of Flint, Mich., she has been a resident of Collegedale many years and was also a member of Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was retired from the U.S. Government and loved to read and sew. In her spare time she loved sewing under garments for dolls for the Samaritan Center. She was the daughter of the late V.O. and Duffy Roberts Lehman and was also the wife of the late Don Byrd.She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Bosley; and two brothers, Bob Lehman and Charles Lehman.Survivors include her brother, Wayne Lehman, Cleveland, Tenn.; niece and her husband, Lynn and Steve Swafford, Georgetown, Tenn.; and several other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery with Pastor Mickey Mallory officiating.Please share your memories at ChattanoogaValleyViewChapel.com.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday before the service at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
