Dora Freeman

Dora Lavan McCormack Freeman, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was a member of Rossville Church of Christ. She had been a nurse with the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department for many years. She loved living life to the fullest and spending time outdoors, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vashtye Lavan McCormack; husband, Dorlan Freeman; 5 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include her son, Coy Freeman, of Flintstone, Ga.; sister, Betty Johnson, of Rossville, Ga.; granddaughter, Belinda Walker; two great grandchildren, Haley Walker and Whitney Cummins; cousin, Linda Norris and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Minister Jack James officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe, GA.
