Bill Wills

William "Bill" Wills, 79, of Soddy-Daisy, and a retired Rohm and Haas chemist died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.Born in Bridgeton, N.J., he earned a BS in chemistry from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (Now Philiadelphia University). He was an Emeritus member of the ACS. He started at Rohm and Haas in Bristol, Pa., as a chemical technician. He was a member of one of the first ad hoc committees for chemical technicians in the Philadelphia Section. He held several patents for Polymer additives and during his 27 years at Rohm and Haas he worked at several different U.S. and European plants doing process scale up. He was an avid fisherman, a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and a four degree member of the Knights of Columbus.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice; daughters, Ann and Mary; sons, Morris and Louis; and six grandchildren.Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Humbrecht and Father Mike Creson officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O.
