Robert Blevins

Robert Donald "Don" Blevins, 74, of Signal Mountain, Tenn., passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 19, 1939, in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was the son of Chester Ellis Blevins and Rosa Lee Walker Blevins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Blevins Fressola, and sister, Jean Blevins Gibbs.He is survived by his wife, Phyllis OKelley Blevins; daughter, Kelley Blevins Baker (John); son, Kenneth Donald Blevins (Pam); brother, Douglas Walker Blevins (Linda); sister, Martha Blevins Hillis, (Lane); grandchildren, Elizabeth OKelley Baker, John "Jack" H. Baker IV, SaraGrace "Gracie" Rose Baker, Kadie OKelley Blevins and Jacob Hudson Blevins; and numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was a 1958 graduate of Red Bank High School and attended Lipscomb University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked many years in the printing press industry. Memorial Services will be on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at Mountain Creek Church of Christ located at 985 Runyan Drive, Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Mountain Creek Church of Christ Building Fund, 985 Runyan Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37411-5512 and St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
