Wilson Smith

Woodrow Wilson Smith, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at a local health facility.Mr. Smith was born in Pikeville, Tenn., to the late Junius and Hallie Smith.He was the owner of Tennessee Awning and Tent Co. and a founding member of Highland Park Lions Club. Mr. Smith was also a 57 year member of the Alhambra Shrine, American Legion and the East Ridge Masonic Lodge #755.He was preceded in death by his wife, June Virginia Caldwell Smith; and the last of 11 children.Surviving are his son, Roger (Jo Ann) Smith, of Cumming, Ga.; daughter, Carole (John D) Green, of Decatur, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 29, 2013, at the funeral home.Graveside Services will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Chattanooga National Cemetery conducted by the East Ridge Lodge #755.Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416, or on-line at www.hospiceofchattanooga.com.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist.
