Rev Clovis

Rev. Clovis Simpkins, 84, of Ooltewah, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at his residence.He was born Oct.27, 1928, in Barboursville, W.Va., and moved to the North Georgia area in the 60s.Clovis was an ordained Baptist minister and pastored several churches in West Virginia and Georgia. He was also a gospel singer and sang in several quartets.He was a veteran of the United States Army.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Addie Porter Simpkins; three brothers; and five children.He is survived by his wife, Frankie Kendall Simpkins; three daughters, Susan Simpkins, Mary Cooper and Laura Johnson; stepchildren, Kathi, Tim and Tony Kendall; grandchildren, Joseph and Hannah Cooper; nine step-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Gosnay and Opal Powers; brothers, Jennings and Bobby Simpkins; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Daugherty and the Rev.
