GW Whittenbarger

GW "Whit" Whittenbarger, 90, of Chattanooga died on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013.Whit was a veteran of the United States Army; he served in WWII. A graduate of Central High School, he also attended the University of Chattanooga. He was of the Baptist faith; Whit retired from DuPont Chemicals after many years of service.He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Whittenbarger.Survivors are his wife, Eloise W. Whittenbarger; children, Vicki W. Boyd and Richard Whittenbarger; grandchildren, Becky (Chris) Shoemake and Clark (Holly) Coffey; five great-grandchildren. Friends may visit www.heritagefh.com to share condolences with the family.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
