ML Mulligan

Marty Lee "M.L" Mulligan, 85, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at St. Barnabas Healthcare Center.He was the son of the late Morty Lee and Willie Boone Mulligan. He received a bachelor of arts degree in religion and English from Baylor University in 1949 and a master of education degree from the University of Chattanooga in 1951. M.L. enjoyed his time as a teacher and continued many of his relationships with his students throughout his life. He was a State Farm agent for nearly 50 years and valued the relationships he built throughout his long term career. He loved philosophy and music and delighted in hearing his late wife, Patty, play the piano, often joining in on ukulele and vocals.M.L. was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Patty Conn Mulligan, and is survived by daughter, Constance Mulligan Baird and husband, David, of Richmond, Ky.; two sons, Byron Wade Mulligan of Chattanooga, and Michael Lee Mulligan and wife, Lynne, of Chattanooga; and four grandchildren, Sarah Baird, Nelson and Anna Mulligan and Lea Mulligan.There will be no visitation at the funeral home.A private family burial will be held today, Sept. 28, at Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.The family would welcome thoughts and memories that you would like to share.
