Kelsey Pettigrew Sr

Kelsey Pettigrew Sr. ROSSVILLE Kelsey W. Pettigrew Sr., 77, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014, while on vacation in Florida. Mr. Pettigrew was a native of Texas, was raised in Arizona and had lived over 30 years in the North Georgia area. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during Korea and Vietnam retiring with 20 years of service. Mr. Pettigrew also retired from Moore Security as a Security Guard with over five years of service. His passions in life were his family, woodworking, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelsey Lee Pettigrew and Edna Pettigrew. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Gladys Pettigrew; three children, Leigh Butts, of Chickamauga, Kelsey Pettigrew Jr., of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Charlene Jamriska, of Chickamauga; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Charles Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from noon Saturday until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
