The Rev. Fred Glover

The Rev. Fred E. Glover, 84, passed into his heavenly life Friday, April 4, 2014. He was born Feb. 23, 1930 to Tom and Gertrude Glover. Rev. Glover is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn Vaughn Glover; a daughter, Kathy (Jimmy) Thomas; a son, Freddy Glover; grandchildren Marc (Suzanne) Thomas, Whitney Glover, Griffen Glover, Jared Glover; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Thomas; a brother, Bobby Glover; and a sister-in-law, Edith (Jack) Glover. Rev. Glover was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Glover and Jack Glover. A Baptist minister for over 40 years, Rev. Glover was pastor of several churches in the Sand Mountain area. He was founder of the Glover Brothers Lumber Co. in Sylvania (now FG Lumber). Rev. Glover will be remembered for his love for his Lord and preaching the gospel, love and devotion for his family, and for the many friends and acquaintances he had through his churches and business. Visitation will be at the Rainsville Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT today, April 5, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, from Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Rainsville Memorial Park. Rainsville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
