Dale Davis

Dale Franklin Davis, 65, of East Ridge, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of East Ridge and was of the Baptist faith. Dale served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from U.S. Army National Guard after tours in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He also retired as a truck driver in 2007. Dale was a loving father, grandfather and brother, who will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murriel F. and Edna Louise Tallent Davis; and son, Tommy Payne. Dale is survived by his children, Greg (Tammy) Payne of Flintstone, Brad Davis, of Ringgold, Jennifer (Henry) Davis, of East Ridge, and Gary (Angela) Davis, of Alabama; sister, Murlyn Campbell, of Ringgold; brother, Mike Davis, of McDonald; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery, with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today and prior to the service on Wednesday. Arrangements by W.L.
