Dereda Layne

Mrs. Dereda Joyce Layne, 84, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was a member of Faith Missionary Church of God and a life long servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born in Palmer, Tenn. on May 22, 1929 to Arthur and Mary Jane Knox Tate who preceded her in death along with her sister, Marie Fisher and Iris and Ruth Tate; brothers, Charles and William Ford Tate; husband, James Layne. She is survived by her son, Don (Deb) Layne, Elgin, Ill. and Bruce (Dorothy) Layne, McMinnville; daughters, Pam (Donnie) Harvey, Dunlap, and Deborah King, Altamont; granddaughter she raised, Jennifer Michelle Curtis; brother, Joe David Tate, Palmer; sister, Helen Kirk, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Stacey Smith and Charles Tipton officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery.
