Donald Hayes

Donald Kelley Hayes, 82, passed into the loving arms of God at his home on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. Donald served in Europe in the Korean War in the US Air Force as Sgt. for three years. He retired from U.S. Pipe, Soil Pipe Division after 35 years of service. Donald was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for over 44 years. Donald was a member of Hill City Masonic Lodge #603 F&AM for over 50 years where he served faithfully as Chaplain and other offices. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. Hayes Sr. and Cassie Cowart Hayes; sister, Mary Myree Hayes; and a brother, William L. Hayes Jr. Donald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Fulghum Hayes; stepson, Daniel A. Edwards; sister, Lorene S. Cagle; great-grandson, Thomas Morris III; granddaughter, Cheryl Edwards Femrite of Texas; two great-granddaughters, Sade Edwards and Cheyenne Seifert, of Killeen, Texas; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3 until 8 p.m. today, Aug. 5, with Masonic service at 7 p.m. at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bell and Rev. Roger DeHart officiating.
