Oleta Thurman

Oleta Thurman, 91, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Soddy-Daisy Health Care Center. Oleta was a member of Middle Valley Church of God. She retired from BI-LO after 20 years of service. Oleta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Talma Thurman; brothers, Quentin, Hoyt and Cline Thurman; sister, Christina Smith. Oleta is survived by brother, Theodore Thurman; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today, Aug. 22, 2014, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. Funeral service for Oleta will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 22, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bobby Scott officiating. Interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
