Zelma Carroll

Bessie Zelma Carroll, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, two days before her 97th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly Cross and George Friddell; her husband, Rev. Arlie Carroll; son, Bruce Carroll; three brothers, Herman, Dewitt and Herschel Friddell; two sisters, Thelma Friddell and Bertie Dill. She is survived by one sister, Wilma Hardin, of Dunlap; two daughters, Wanda (Harvey) Turner, of Cleveland, Diane (Jim) Worley, of Lutz, Fla.; one son, Robert (Gayle) Carroll, of Harrison; grandchildren, Harve Turner Jr., Scott Turner, Selena Hensley, Chad Carroll, Martie Smith and Stephanie Lolley; several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home, or you may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harvey Turner Sr., and Rev. Harve Turner Jr., officiating. Internment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Special thanks and appreciation to Southern Oaks Assisted Living, where she had lived for the past few years, and to Caris Hospice Care and Katy Hamby of Hamby Haven for their loving care during her last days here.
