Lake Sisson

Lake M. Sisson, 88, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014. He was born to the late George W. and Beaulah A. Sherrill Sissons in Delano, Tenn., and was a member of Chickamauga Church of Christ. Lake moved to the North Georgia area from Gastonia, N.C., in 1946. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during W.W. II and retired from Crane Enamel after 37 years of employment. Lake was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Alyadean Dale, and stepdaughter, Denise Vaughn. Lake is survived by his wife, of 30 years, Marilynn Sisson; son, Larry (Joyce) Sisson of Rock Spring; stepchildren, Debra (Paul) Oliver of East Ridge, Tommy (Jean) Gadd of Calhoun and Bobby (Melissa) Vaughn of Chickamauga; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, in the funeral home chapel, with Minister Jack James and Minister Phil Burse officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Aug. 25, all day on Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday. Arrangements by W.L.
