Jim Dietz

James "Jim" Dietz, 63, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga-North Georgia Area and a lifetime member of Boynton United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Ringgold High School. He served as a Volunteer Fireman in Catoosa County, and was retired from NA Industries. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Dietz Jr., and his grandparents, Ira and Millie Diet, Sr., and Samuel and Hattie Green. He is survived by his loving wife, Angie Dietz, Chattanooga; his mother, Lois Dietz, Ringgold; and a son, Barron (Julie) Dietz, Ringgold; a daughter, Heidi (Nathan) Dietz Pursley, Hixson, and a stepdaughter, Shellie Hicks; a sister, Brenda (Sandy) Hall, Ringgold; four grandchildren, Avery Simmons, Nolen Dietz, Drew Dietz and Logan Pursley; and special friend, Randa Mertens. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Memorial Hospital for their love and care given to Jim. Paul Williams and Brother Bob Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Dietz Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
