Louellen Remson

Louellen Mayes Remson, 75, passed on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. She was a graduate of Alabama A&M with a Masters degree in education. She was an educator in the Chattanooga Public System for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Mayes and Judge Ella Watkins; stepparent, Cooper Watkins Sr.; brother, Kenneth Mayes. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Remson; sons, Kenneth and Ken Joshua Remson; grandchildren, Marquita Carr and Kenneth Walker; brothers, Jerry Mayes, Cooper Watkins, George Watkins and Gretrell Watkins. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, Minister Robert Johnson officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today, Dec. 22, and the family will receive friends from 78 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
