Elena Rogers

Elena June Rogers, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at her residence. Elena was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Waldens Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed sports, sewing, fishing, and reading. She is preceded in death by parents, Will and Cora Jewell; husband, Edgar Ted Rogers; daughter, Charlotte Ann Selcer; sisters, Violet Garrett, Madge Young and Katherine Yirga; brothers, Bill, Floyd, Leon, Arnold and Harod Jewell. She is survived by son, Jim Ricketts of Dayton, Tenn.; sister, Betty Hudson of Dayton; brothers, Frank Jewell of Dayton and Kenneth Jewell of Spring City, Tenn.; grandson, Gary Roberts; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28 at the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Rev. Jimmy Jewell officiating. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.
