Dorothy Shelby

Dorothy Mae Shelby, 81, of Hixson, she was born on May 16, 1933 and passed away on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake W. Shelby; daughters, Deborah Shelby, Nona Vandergriff and Teresa Cox; sons, Bill England; sisters, Ivey Davis, Sue Price and Ethel Stinnett; and a brother, R.J. Dotson. She is survived by her children, Bill and Ann Shelby, Jean and Roger Flinn, Jackie and Deloris Shelby, Paul and Charlotte Shelby and Oscar Shelby; her brothers, Calvin and Harold Dotson; her sisters, Linda Jeno, Burt Revis, Pat Swafford, Wilma White, Barbara Brown, Nancy Smith and Patricia Denton along with nineteen grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Painter Cemetery.
