Homer Griffin

Homer L. "Bubba" Griffin, 62, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Rossville and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed by Finishing Solutions for six years before working at Mohawk Ind. and Gann Construction. Homer was an avid fisherman, Harley rider and movie goer. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and uncle who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Callie S. Griffin; siblings, Yvonne Helton, Doug Griffin, Barbara Blevins, Ruth Guffey, Eddie Griffin and Jimmy Griffin. Homer is survived by his wife, of nine years, Elaine Griffin; stepchildren, Basil (Jana) Buckels and Heather Dunn; sisters, Betty (Tom) Grisham and Linda (Jerry Whaley) Durham; grandchildren, Kayla and Austin; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Herb Judkins officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
