Gene Fish

Willard Eugene "Gene" Fish 71, of Chattanooga, formerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 in Tennessee. He was born Nov. 12, 1942 in Dover, Ohio to the late Willard Joseph and Marie Avon Fish. He graduated from New Philadelphia High School, was a Boy Scout and Scout leader and was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church in Chattanooga. He worked in the hotel business since the age of 16. He started as a bellhop and retired from the motel business as night auditor. He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Perdue whom he married March 13, 1965; his children, Randy Fish, Ronda Fish England and Tim Fish, all of Tennessee: three grandchildren; and his sister, Shirley Fish (fianc Bob Harrington), of Strasburg. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek with Pastor Darcy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Dundee Cemetery.
