Chester Alley

Chester Roy Alley, 78, a lifelong resident of Rhea County, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Alley was retired from TVA after 33 years of service. Mr. Alley was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Viola Alley; sisters, Ada Fry and Aileen Porter; first wife, Barbara Thomas Alley; and daughter, Maria Hodges Harrison. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Blevins Hodges Alley; children, Gary and Carol Alley, Mike and Kim Alley and Terry and Debbie (Alley) Eastwood; Ronald Hodges, Michael and Angela (Hodges) Amour, and Bill Harrison; sisters, Helen Duckworth and Lucille Davidson; brothers, Eugene Alley, Walter Alley and Charles Alley; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
