Pie Covington

Edwin W. "Pie" Covington, 89, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. He was born Sept. 25, 1924 in Chattanooga a son of the late Norman and Inez Covington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie Covington. He was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church then of Brainerd United Methodist Church. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was a longtime member and board member of the Half-Century Club. Survivors include three sons, Richard Covington, John Covington and Stephen Covington and his wife, Dianne; three grandchildren, Inez and Mikaela Covington and Misty Gauthier; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Brainerd United Methodist Church with Dr. Dennis Flaugher and the Rev. Marvin Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. today.
