Luther McCall

LaFAYETTE Luther McCall, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at his residence. Mr. McCall was a native of Moultrie, Ga., but had lived the greater part of his life in the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas and was a member of Woodstation Baptist Church. He worked as an automobile mechanic for many years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and skeet shooting. He actually held the Tennessee State Championship title for skeet shooting for many years. Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his wife, Nell McCall; daughter, Carol Bennett; and granddaughter, Samantha Ownby. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Rickett, of Soddy-Daisy, and Gail (Bill) Blankenship, of Flintstone; son, Fred McCall, Chattanooga; sister, Grace Hortman, Moultrie, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
